Natural home insecticides are mostly obtained from leaves and stems of various plants, which are non-toxic in nature with zero or minimal adverse effects on humans. In July 2018, BASF S.E. launched Termidor SC, a suspension concentrate residual contact and stomach insecticide, for controlling wood destroying subterranean termites that damages buildings and structures. The new product was designed using German engineering and is odorless, environment-friendly, and safe to use.

In October 2017, BAYER A.G. launched Bayer Digital Pest Management services utilizing  Microsoft  Azure cloud platform. Through this platform, the company targets to offer a combination of pest management program comprised termite control industry experience and technological infrastructure to the customers to gain competitive advantage and expand business.

In March 2016, Syngenta A.G. announced effectiveness of its Altriset termiticide to drywood termites. Earlier, Altriset was effective only to Eastern subterranean and Formosan termites. Altriset can be applied as a foam treatment to penetrate difficult-to-reach areas such as inside wall voids and structural beams to control drywood termites.

In 2017, Rentokil Initial PLC acquired 41 businesses out of which 33 business were operating in pest control sector worldwide.  For instance, in February 2017, the company acquired Allgood Pest Solutions, a high quality pest control company headquartered in Georgia, U.S.
