Lancôme, in partnership with Swiss biotech company Timeline, is set to introduce a new skincare range aimed at targeting the skin's biological age, not just its visible signs. This new skincare line will feature Mitopure, a technology designed to rejuvenate mitochondria as well as improve cell vitality.
The partnership between French cosmetics company L’Oréal and Timeline, which started in 2024, will now come to life in a Lancôme skincare product. This breakthrough in skin longevity will be showcased next month at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) convention in Denver, Colorado, from March 27 to 29, 2026.
Revitalizing Mitochondria
Lancôme's upcoming products will focus on Mitopure, a highly purified form of Urolithin A developed by Timeline. Mitopure is a mitochondria-targeting postbiotic that helps with mitophagy, the process that recycles and renews the cell's energy sources. This innovation has been backed by over 15 years of research and €50 million in R&D investment.
By combining Mitopure with Lancôme’s own proprietary ingredients, the new line aims to target the skin's biological age and provide clinically proven anti-aging benefits. This is the first time Mitopure will be used on a global scale through a major beauty brand.
According to Coherent Market Insights, the Medicated Skincare Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.6% from 2025 to 2032. Currently, the market is at USD 49.21 Bn in 2025 and is expected to be around USD 72.06 Bn by 2032. One of the most significant forces behind the medicated skincare market is the increasing popularity of acne and skin related diseases. Skin conditions such as acne, eczema, rosacea, and others have become improperly frequent as a result of environmental pollution, lifestyle changes, and stress. This trend has caused an uptake in the need of skincare products with therapeutic value.
“Our goal is to shift the conversation on aging, using cutting-edge science to restore cellular vitality and offer women a new perspective on their own skin’s trajectory,” said Vania Lacascade, Global Brand President of Lancôme.
