Victorinox, the company that makes the original Swiss Army Knife™, announced the formation of a strategic partnership with JBS Foods Canada, a major global food company.
This partnership is a crucial step for both the companies. They will work together to improve support at food production plants, make supply chains run more smoothly, as well as create better tools for meat production work.
As part of the agreement, Victorinox and JBS Foods Canada will have a direct purchasing relationship. They will also work together to develop new products that match the changing needs of modern food processing facilities.
JBS Foods Canada will get help from Victorinox’s distribution hub in Canada. This hub can keep enough inventory, deliver products quickly, and respond to customer needs very fast. Because Victorinox controls its own supply chain, it can provide support that fits the exact needs of each plant in the JBS Foods Canada network.
The partnership will continue to focus on helping each plant individually and improving product designs to meet new operational needs as they come up.
As per Coherent Market Insights, the Food Automation Market will grow at an 10.4% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2026 to 2033, from USD 14.3 Bn in 2026 to around USD 28.7 Bn by 2033. The Food Automation Market is driven by rising demand for operational efficiency, with automation adoption reducing labor costs. Growing consumer focus on food safety and hygiene has increased investments in automated quality control, especially in countries with strict regulations such as Japan and Canada.
"Partnering with JBS Foods Canada is the logical next step in terms of product development and maximizing the lifetime value of each and every knife," said Ulrich Wohn, President of Victorinox North America. "To collaborate with a global industry leader and execute our high level of service, logistics, and inventory management at the individual plant level, all in service to deliver an even greater value to JBS Foods Canada, is a unique opportunity to maximize these efficiencies."
"Partnering with Victorinox marks an important step forward in our commitment to operational excellence and long‑term value creation here in Canada," said Jerson Do Nascimento Jr., JBS Global Chief Procurement Officer. "This collaboration brings together two companies that share a deep dedication to quality and innovation. By combining our expertise, we're strengthening our ability to deliver best‑in‑class tools designed to help maximize efficiency across our Canadian operations."
