INNOSPACE has received approval from the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) to launch its HANBIT‑Nano vehicle, marking what will be the first private commercial launch from Brazil’s Alcantara Space Center.
Remarkably, this coming mission is the first civilian launch from the Brazilian space launch site. It is also the first domestic private enterprise to receive a commercial launch permit from KASA.
The launch window for this mission, called “SpaceWard”, is October 28 to November 28, four weeks long. However, the official launch date for this mission is still unknown at this time and will be announced over the course of the coming weeks.
The exact launch date for the mission will be determined in coordination with the Brazilian Air Force and will depend on variables such as weather, technical inspections, and overall launch-operation conditions.
This launch will take place from the Alcántara Space Centre, which is under the Brazilian Air Force, but the launch will be conducted by Innospace. Aboard the Hanbit-Nano SpaceWard mission will be a customer’s satellite, which will be deployed into low Earth orbit (LEO) at an altitude of 300km.
The INNOSPACE mission, using the HANBIT‑Nano vehicle, will carry eight official payloads, small satellites and non-deploying experimental devices—from Brazil, India and South Korea.
Executive Statement
According to Innospace CEO Kim Soo-jong, the first domestic private company to be officially recognised for its legal and technical reliability for commercial launches. SpaceWard mission is not a simple flight test, but a historical milestone that announces their entry into the commercial launch market for transporting customers’ satellites and payloads into space.
