Motion preservation devices are used to treat spinal disorders such as spinal stenosis, which is very common and occur in both men and women. These devices are also used to restore and maintain the alignment of spine as per normal. Motion preservation devices follow usually a minimally invasive procedure, which preserves or re-generate normal motion of spine. Mobi-C cervical disc of Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. is the first cervical disc replacement approved by U.S. Food Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013 for both one and two-level indications.

Companies such as Centinel Spine, LLC are planning to launch patient education and support programs in July 2019, for creating awareness among people. In 2015, Arthrosurface, Inc. launched the motion preserving WristMotion hemiarthroplasty implant. It is designed to preserve more bone than other implants, therefore, it is widely accepted treatment mode for motion preservation. In 2018, Globus Medical, Inc. acquired Nemaris Inc., a provider of product Surgimap a ‘surgical planning software’, which will help healthcare professionals to identify possible surgical outcomes and share medical imaging to improve procedural workflow and patient care.
