Pertuzumab is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that acts as an antineoplastic agent, which targets the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 protein known as HER2. The drug blocks signaling pathways that leads to cell growth arrest and apoptosis (cell destruction), thereby inhibiting the proliferation of human tumor cells.
